Who we are

We are a group of sinners saved by grace.
We come from a whole variety of places, backgrounds and walks of life.
We seek to offer a warm welcome to anyone and everyone.
We firmly believe that each person in the church has a vital part to play.

Below you can find just a little bit of information about those who serve as church officers at the chapel:

Chris Tapp   IMG-20170813-WA0005
Chris Tapp (Pastor)   Ian and Joan Corby

Chris has been the Pastor at Stanmore Chapel since September 2018. Before coming to the Chapel he was the Assistant Pastor at Spicer Street Church in St Albans. Prior to that he was Director of a national debt charity before being trained for ministry at St Helen's Bishopsgate.  He is married to Erica and they have three young children. He's also a Stockport County fan, which isn't something you find much in these parts!

Ian (elder) is married to Joan and has two grown up daughters. He has been attending Stanmore Chapel since his teens, which is more years ago than he cares to remember! Ian and Joan have long supported and been involved in missionary and evangelistic work including with The Gideons and The Society For Distribution of Hebrew Scriptures.

Sheila Jarvis   Aaron & Karen Ng

Sheila (treasurer) is a long time Stanmore resident and servant of the Chapel. We wouldn't know what to do without her!

Aaron (elder) is married to Karen and they have two teenage children. The family are originally from Hong Kong, arrived in Stanmore in 2010 and joined the Chapel in 2017. Aaron works at a gambling rehabilitation centre, helping people to rebuild their lives and relationships by the power of the gospel. He preaches regularly in Chinese churches in Cantonese as a guest speaker. He enjoys DIY and walking (with Jesus) in the woods.

James Sant   Afia
James Sant (Minister in training)   Afia Kwateng

James has been at Stanmore Chapel since September 2018, joining the church his mother grew up in and his Grandparents served in for many years. He used to work in the City before being encouraged to explore ministry. James is married to Fran and they have a young daughter called Elizabeth and another little one due in early 2021. James has been studying at Cornhill, the Proclamation Trust's ministry training course, since 2018.

Afia is one of our church officers. She has lived in Stanmore since she was a toddler and has been at the Chapel since 2010. She is involved in leading Sunday School and at Youth Club at the church and in her spare time enjoys good food and good chat!
