Who we are

We are a group of sinners saved by grace.
We come from a whole variety of places, backgrounds and walks of life.
We seek to offer a warm welcome to anyone and everyone.
We firmly believe that each person in the church has a vital part to play.

Below you can find just a little bit of information about those who serve in leadership roles at the church:

Chris Tapp (Pastor)   Ian and Joan

Chris has been the Pastor at Stanmore Chapel since September 2018. Before coming to the Chapel he was the Assistant Pastor at Spicer Street Church in St Albans. Prior to that he was Director of a national debt charity before being trained for ministry at St Helen's Bishopsgate.  He is married to Erica and they have three young children. He's also a Stockport County fan, which isn't something you find much in these parts!

Ian (elder) is married to Joan and has two grown up daughters. He has been attending Stanmore Chapel since his teens, which is more years ago than he cares to remember! Ian and Joan have long supported and been involved in missionary and evangelistic work including with The Gideons and The Society For Distribution of Hebrew Scriptures.

Sheila   Stephen and Lorraine

Sheila (finance and secretary) is a long time Stanmore resident and servant of the Chapel. We wouldn't know what to do without her!

Stephen (elder) works in the City and is married to Lorraine. They have three sons. Stephen grew up in Lancashire, while Lorraine, despite Latin American roots, was born and bred in Stanmore. They have been involved with Stanmore Chapel since graduating from university in the early "noughties". When not working you are most likely to find them having a quiet coffee somewhere.

James Sant
James Sant (Minister in training)

James has been at Stanmore Chapel since September 2018, joining the church his mother grew up in and his Grandparents served in for many years. He used to work in the City before being encouraged to explore ministry. James is married to Fran and they have a young daughter called Elizabeth and another little one due in early 2021. James has been studying at Cornhill, the Proclamation Trust's ministry training course, since 2018.
