Sundays at Stanmore Chapel

We have now re-opened for our Sunday morning gathering at 10.30am. We are not able to do everything as we usually would so, if you are thinking of joining us, you may like to read our 'what to expect' guide.

Sunday 6 September we will also be commencing a 'Family Service' at 9am. Whilst we are not able to operate Sunday School as usual we hope that this will be an accessible way for families to join us. The service will be held in the Chapel and will involve listening to songs, Bible teaching, quizzes and activities. It will be finished by 10am. All ages are welcome.

We know that coming to church can be daunting

Perhaps you haven’t been to church for a long time or maybe you have never been at all. Whatever your situation you are always welcome to join us. We promise that you will be given a warm welcome and that you won’t be asked to do anything.

If you are coming to the Sunday morning gathering aim for a little before 10.30am when our meeting starts, enter through the main doors at the front where there'll be someone to welcome you and give you a service sheet which will contain all the information you need. There is no dress code and our services generally last just over an hour. After the service there is tea and coffee. Do stay for that, it's a great, relaxed time to say hello and meet others.

We celebrate the Lord's Supper as part of the morning service on the first Sunday of every month.

We then meet again at 5pm each Sunday for a more informal 'Sunday Fellowship' meeting. There we sit around tables, enjoy refreshments together to begin, we may sing just one or two hymns,  pray and consider a topic or discuss the application of the morning's sermon together.

The aim of all our gatherings is that we might learn, encourage each other and grow together in faith in God through Jesus. The Bible helps us do this. There are three elements to our services: we sing (old and new hymns), we pray and we listen to the Bible being read and taught. (Click here to view the current preaching program).
